Today, the FDA is our Friend

Normally we are not big fans of the FDA, they approve drugs that extend the human lifespan and make sure food is safe to eat. But today, they finally did something good. Well, partially good. Over the last number of years, the movement to force children to bear more children has been going pretty strong in this country.

Aside from telling kids conPlan Bdoms almost always fail or teaching them to pretend no one has sex until marriage, the child procreation movement came to a peak in 2006 when the FDA decided that you needed to be 18 to get the Plan B contraceptive without a prescription.

But today they announced that the age has been dropped to 17.  Although they could do much better by making it available to anyone who needs it regardless of age, the fact that over 40% of 17 year olds are sexually active means that tens of thousands of babies may never be born because of Plan B.

And this makes us happy.    :)
