So the official death toll from the earthquake in Haiti is now around 170,000 and is expected to reach 200,000. This is a big improvement from the estimate in our previous post and will set the growth of the population back by a few years at least.
There is also a lot of talk about decentralizing the population of the country during the rebuilding process by moving people out to smaller villages and cities throughout the island. This of course is good, but much more needs to be done to reduce the population in order for there to ever be hope for the country.
Right now all sorts of ships and planes are bringing food and medicine to the country non stop. Why not bring condoms and birth control and a little bit of education to go along with it?
In the meantime, there is still hope for another big earthquake. A nearby fault which is thought to have a lot of pressure built on it barely moved during the 7.0 quake that hit the island.

The Telegraph is reporting that scientists have created the worlds first lab grown meat.
This is bad news. The end result could mean growing literally millions of pounds of food cheaply using less water, land, resources, and with less pollution and greenhouse gases.
The research is backed by a large sausage corporation and just shows that greedy scientists will take a paycheck from any one in order to keep the world on the path of overpopulation.

The results of a recent HIV vaccine trial in Thailand are out and although thankfully not significant enough to put an actual vaccine into production, it has given researchers hope that they are moving in the right direction.
This is very bad news.
HIV/AIDS Has been an incredible asset in the population fight. Not just because it kills people. It does not really work fast enough to kill a significant amount of humans. However, the fear of getting HIV/AIDS stops hundreds of millions of people from having unprotected sex… or even from having sex at all.
Without the fear of getting a terrible incurable disease, a vaccinated population will become sluttier than you could ever imagine, each individual could engage in sexual activities with thousands of unprotected partners every year the global birthrate would shoot up from 2.2 babies per female to more than 16.
In just a few generations we could see a population on this planet of over 100 billion.
Scary times indeed. Maybe we will get lucky and some more earthquakes in Asia will wipe out any more vaccine progress.
